adopt

a hedgehog!

Folly Wildlife Rescue admit hundreds of injured and orphaned hedgehogs. Most are successfully returned to the wild, but sadly many others have been too badly injured and would not survive, so live here at the wildlife centre. Why not help them with an adoption!

TED
TOPSY
SNUFFLES
EDWARD

Ted has been with us for several years now after being badly injured by an electric strimmer. He recovered but the scars make it difficult for him to breath, so it was thought kinder to keep him in captivity. He now leads a very happy life at Folly!

Topsy was very lucky to survive her encounter with a car, but the head trauma she suffered has left her permanently disabled. She now lives in an enclosed garden at Folly but can often be seen wandering around in broad day-light. She would not survive for long in the wild, so will now stay in care.

Snuffles is a hedgehog that nearly drowned after falling into a steep-sided garden pond. Although she made a good recovery, she still has trouble with her breathing (hence the name Snuffles) and we don’t think she would survive for very long in the wild.

Edward was unfortunate to become entangled in garden netting. A back leg was badly injured and had to be amputated. Three-legged hedgehogs do survive in the wild, but their overall health is compromised so he now lives at the centre.

Adoptions make great presents for friends and family (or for yourself!). Adult adopters receive an exclusive t-shirt, a Folly Wildlife Rescue hedgehog key ring, a hedgehog Fact Sheet and a personalised adoption certificate with a colour picture of the animal chosen (for children there’s a t-shirt, pin badge, hedgehog ruler, bookmark and certificate).
