Badger Back Garden Badgers

Photo © Copyright 2005 Barry Trinder
Photo: Barry Trinder

This photo was kindly sent in by Barry Trinder. It was taken at about 9.30pm on the 8th August 2005 from his conservatory window on the edge of Oxford.

Barry said the set is located nearby and they are fed each evening on peanuts, and they never miss a night.

In the photo you'll notice a fox at the top left. Just outside the frame were two more. Barry said they all feed happily together along with some Roe Deer, although the Badgers remain in charge!

The Badger group all look in very good health, even after the very dry spring, and this year have produced three new cubs which are all extremely lively.

The largest number of Badger's seen in the garden at one time is nine. It can get quiet crowded at times, but apart from the usual family squabbles they all get on okay.
