Scientific name:  Glechoma hederacea

Size:  Grows to a height of 20cm

Distribution:  Found throughout the UK

Flowering months:  April to July

Habitat:  Deciduous woodlands, woodland edges, meadows, parks and gardens

Special features:  Ground Ivy is a member of the mint family.  It has rounded, blunt toothed leaves which grow in pairs on the square stems.  The purple flowers also appear in pairs.
