Ladybird  10-Spot Ladybirds

Latin name: Adalia 10-punctata

Size: Approximately 5mms long

Distribution: Found in most parts of the U.K.

Months seen: March to October

Food: Aphids

Habitat: Hedgerows and woodlands.

Special features: Very variable in colour. The photo (above right) shows the 'netted' form which has black wing casings with orange-red spots. Other specimens have orange wing casings and black spots.
