Beetle Poplar Leaf Beetles

Latin name: Chrysomela populi

Size: Approximately 10mms long.

Distribution: Found throughout the UK.

Months seen: April to October.

Food: Feeds on leaves.

Habitat: Normally found on it's food, the leaves of poplars and also willow trees.

Special features: Has a very round, ladybird-like appearance. The wing casings are a bright reddish-brown colour, and sometimes feature dark patches. The rest of its body is dark green.
