December 2004

Sora Rail - Photo Copyright 2004 Steve Botham

UK Safari Tip:
Need help identifying birds? One of the best field guides is the "Collins Bird Guide" - available through the Amazon bookshop -  click here

This photo of a Sora Rail was spotted at Attenborough, Nottinghamshire on 14th December.

Collins Bird Guide describes this as "a very rare migrant from North America". This is only the second mainland twitchable one - the last one seen in Britain was in Devon 2000.
