This photo of a Tawny Owl was taken by Dick Roberts at "Paws-a-While" B+B in East Yorkshire ( tel: 01759 301168 ), using a Minolta 5D + Sigma 18 - 200mm and a modified Vivitar flash.

Dick lures the owls into his grounds by putting out some food each night.  At this time of year the owls have young and are eager to get a free handout.  He sometimes takes over a thousand frames a night in order to get one good shot like this.  Despite some overheating problems his old Minolta manages to keep going.
